As a long-standing tradition, the Judges of the Bernalillo County Metropolitan Court will perform Valentine’s Day weddings for the public for a 23rd year. The weddings will take place over Zoom.
“We are committed to and enjoy providing this service to the community, especially on this highly sought-after wedding day,” said Presiding Civil Division Judge Frank A. Sedillo, who has been performing weddings for the public for more than two decades. “One of the benefits of holding marriage ceremonies online is that family and friends who may not otherwise be able to attend can easily join via the virtual platform.”
The virtual wedding ceremonies will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 14, 2023. There is no fee for the service.
Appointments are required in advance by calling (505) 841-8287, and couples must obtain a marriage license beforehand from the County Clerk’s Office. Appointment slots are limited. Two witnesses must be physically present with the couple to sign the marriage license after the nuptials.
For information on how to obtain a marriage license, please contact the Bernalillo County Clerk’s Office at (505) 468-1243, or visit the county’s website at www.bernco.gov and look for the marriage license link.
