In keeping with tradition, the Judges of the Bernalillo County Metropolitan Court performed weddings this past Valentine’s Day. However, like most things during this time, the event looked different from years past with love instead in the virtual air.

“We are committed to and enjoy providing this service for the community and found a safe way to do it safely during the public health emergency,” said Presiding Civil Division Judge Frank A. Sedillo, who has been performing weddings for 21 years. “One of the benefits of holding marriage ceremonies online is that family and friends who may not otherwise be able to attend can easily join through the virtual platform.”

Fourteen couples were wed on the fourteenth via Zoom, and safety mandates including social distancing for guests and mask wearing was required.
