The Self–Help Center was created in 2002. The Self–Help Center drafted the civil pamphlets that are now available in Spanish and have been adopted by the Judicial Education Center and are used state–wide at the magistrate courts. The Self–Help Center has only two staff members and serves over 1,000 customers per month in office and by telephone. Services are also provided in Spanish. Both staff members are certified Justice System Language Access Specialists. Self–Help provides forms and information for civil, landlord/tenant, criminal, and traffic matters. The Self–Help Center staff also provides back-up to the Mediation Division.
