Dear Juror,
Please find the reporting instructions for the Jury Term Week starting TUESDAY, OCTOBER 15, 2024.
NOTE: This information is provided to you the Monday and Thursday before your term week. If you check this website the week your term starts, your term dates will NOT be posted here. Refer to your summons for your term week dates.
Jurors may be required to join the Voir Dire jury selection process virtually. If you are selected to participate, you will receive a separate email with instructions and a questionnaire.
Here are some points of interest that might answer some questions and further help you in preparing for your term of jury service scheduled for TUESDAY, OCTOBER 15, 2024, through FRIDAY, OCTOBER 18, 2024. Please remember to make note of your sequence number reflected on your summons. If you are selected to report for service, you will be randomly selected by your sequence number.
REMINDER: Jurors are to call our Jury Message Phone Line at 505-841-8158 each afternoon Sunday through Thursday (Days may vary during Holiday weeks, refer to “Current Juror Reporting Instructions” for further details), any time after 3:30 p.m. for next day reporting instructions. If a panel of jurors is selected and instructed to report to the courthouse, the report time will be no later than 8:45 a.m.
Court Access
If selected to report, please remember to bring your summons with you when reporting to the courthouse. This will provide Security staff proof of your status as an actively serving juror.
When selected to report for jury service during your term, you will be required to report to the courthouse by 8:45 a.m. Please be on time. You will enter at the south side entrance of the courthouse. We also encourage you to bring snacks, lunch, and/or drinks with you as limited beverages will only be provided.
Items not permitted into the courthouse
- Pocket knives
- Pepper spray
- Metal nail files
- Metal eating utensils
- Glass containers
- Cigarettes, E-cigarettes, or vaping devices
- Matches, cigarette lighters, or torch lighters
Dress Code
The dress code at Metro Court is casual. Please dress in comfortable and court-appropriate clothing. We do ask that you do not wear any of the following items:
- Shorts
- Ripped or torn jeans
- Workout attire
- Revealing clothing
- Attire with inappropriate logos or advertising
Face Mask Requirements
Protective face coverings are NOT required; however, if you would like a mask it will be provided to you at no cost upon arrival to the Jury Assembly Room.
What can you bring with you?
You are encouraged to bring with you snacks, lunch, and/or refreshments (coffee, juice, sodas) that you may want or need during your time here at the courthouse. You will have access to a refrigerator and/or microwave. Please plan accordingly as time may be limited depending on the court proceedings. Complimentary bottled water will be provided.
Your summons will permit you to bring in your cell phone and any electronics you would like to have with you. You will need to keep all your personal items with you at all times. All electronics must be completely turned off before entering your respective courtroom. Also, remember that photography, video, or audio recording are prohibited.
Attendance
Attendance is given from the time you are ordered to report to the time you are released. Compensation will be provided at $12.00 per hour and .52 cents per mile after the first 40 roundtrip miles. If you are a government or public employee, compensation will be handled according to your work schedule. Please be sure to provide your information to jury staff to ensure that you are compensated correctly.
Parking
Parking is provided for Jurors. Availability is on a first-come, first-served basis. To access the parking facility from the intersection of 5th Street and Lomas NW, go north on 5th Street (a one-way street northbound), and turn right at the second driveway. This will be the entrance to the public parking structure. Large yellow signs will direct you “Juror and Public Parking”. Please take a ticket at the gate and bring it in with you, a jury staff member will validate it for you. Please do not park in any spaces marked “Reserved”, you will be cited. Once in the courthouse, a jury staff member will direct you to your designated location.
